Giving Tuesday is Tomorrow November 28, 2023, and we need your support
Our History
Mana de Metro Detroit was founded in 1996 and is a 501(c)(3) volunteer lead organization that gives Latinas a voice through advocating in educational, political, government and community leadership. The Mana membership is made up of a strong group of Latinas that are leaders in the corporate, nonprofit, government, and political arenas of the Greater Detroit Area. Our mission is to empower and create a better quality of life for all Latinos through education, leadership development, mentoring and advocacy.
What We Do
Throughout the year we provide needed assistance to many young women in the community through scholarships, getting people involved in the election process, providing needed hygiene items for middle school and high school students, making sure all people are treated fairly, supporting activities in the community, mentoring young women, and ensuring that Latinas are being represented in leadership in all areas of government, community, business, boards and commissions, and community activism.
How You Can Help
The holiday season reminds us how thankful we are to be able to celebrate the holidays with family and loved ones. However, many families in our community need help during the holidays and throughout the year. That is why we are asking you to give today for GIVING TUESDAY. In the spirit of the holiday season, please donate to support these programs:
- College Scholarship Funds, $2,000 Annually to 11 Students
- Hermanitas (Little Sister) Mentoring Program
- Hermanas Listas Conference – Workshops on Domestic Violence, Financial Literacy, Home Ownership Education/College Prep and Immigration
- Adopt a Family – Adopt Several Families Each Year That Need Assistance During the Holidays.
- Hygiene Program for Middle School and High School Young Men and Women
Let’s show the world what happens when we support and uplift our community –especially our youth!
